Release: 10/01/2003

Carolina CREED is part of the Carolina Leadership Academy. First-year student-athletes learn personal leadership skills while pledging to abide by the CREED. Upperclass student-athletes work as CREED peer mentors, helping first-year students to:

  • Learn to effectively lead themselves
  • Ease the transition from high school
  • Create social connections
  • Understand the importance of respecting leadership

Mentors receive valuable training and learn to use educational/professional resources and mentors network to support their efforts.

First-year student-athletes are required to attend monthly meetings that focus on the five elements of the CREED with their mentors and other invited guests. These meetings provide educational information, a supportive environment and small group discussions.
