Anthony Brock joined the North Carolina rowing staff as an assistant coach in August of 2014 and was promoted to assistant head coach in the fall of 2017. He works primarily with the novice squad, coaching beginning rowers and coxswains.
Brock brought a wealth of experience to UNC after coaching on the collegiate, high school and club levels. He has served as an assistant coach of women's teams at the University of Connecticut and Boston College and was head coach of the women's club team and Director of Rowing at Northwestern University. He also has coached men's teams at Boston College and M.I.T., as well as boys' high school teams. He rowed all four years as an undergraduate at Ithaca College, from which he graduated in 1996 with a B.S. in exercise science.
"Anthony has many years of credible coaching experience that I know will benefit our program," UNC head coach Sarah Haney said upon Brock's hiring. "He is very knowledgeable and personable and I know he will do a great job leading our novice program."
