Tar Heels Hit The Road To Visit No. 11 TCU On Sunday

CHAPEL HILL—The undefeated University of North Carolina men's tennis team will play its first road dual match of the 2020 season when it visits No. 11 Texas Christian on Sunday afternoon.  Carolina and TCU will begin action at 1 p.m. Central Time (2 p.m. Eastern) at the Bartzen Varsity Courts in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Tar Heels are 6-0 this season with all six wins by shutout. Last weekend, UNC swept a pair of ranked opponents with 4-0 wins over No. 19 Illinois and No. 12 South Carolina in Chapel Hill.Â
Carolina is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the Tennis Channel/USTAÂ poll this week for the first time. UNC is No. 5 in the ITA poll.
TCU plays at Virginia on Thursday evening before returning to host the Tar Heels in Fort Worth for the first time since 2013. The Horned Frogs boast four ranked singles players and a top-40 doubles team in the latest ITA rankings.
The Tar Heels and TCU met in last year's ITA National Indoor Championship quarterfinals. UNC beat TCU, 4-3, in Chicago with Josh Peck clinching the win 7-5, 6-7, 6-1.Â
The teams also met in the 2015 NCAA quarterfinals (a 4-2 TCU win in Waco, Texas). The teams have split the last six meetings, five of which were decided by 4-3 scores. This will be UNC's first road trip to TCU since 2013. Â
