Tar Heels Finish No. 3 In Final IWLCA Poll

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team finished No. 3 in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national rankings for 2021, the IWLCA announced on Tuesday. Â
The Tar Heels (20-1) had topped the poll in every week of the season prior to dropping their final game of the season to eventual NCAA champion Boston College in the national semifinals on May 28.
BC topped the final poll after beating Syracuse for the national championship. The Orange was No. 2 in the final poll, followed by No. 3 UNC. Northwestern and Stony Brook rounded out the top five. The rest of the top 10 was No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 7 Florida, No. 8 Duke, No. 9 Loyola and No,. 10 Maryland. Â
Other ranked ACC teams included No. 11 Virginia and No. 25 Louisville.
