Burston & Lohman Named ACC Divers of the Week

Tar Heel junior duo excelled against Georgia.
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of North Carolina's Maria Lohman has been selected as the ACC Women's Diver of the Week. On the men's side, the Tar Heels' Sean Burston garnered Men's Diver of the Week honors in the ACC.
Both Tar Heels earned their awards in the Tar Heels' season-opening dual meet competition against the Georgia Bulldogs on October 6.
Lohman placed first in both the one-meter and three-meter events at North Carolina's meet against No. 4 Georgia. The junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. posted a 294.45 on the 1-meter, and a 323.63 on the 3-meter.
Burston earned first place in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions for North Carolina against No. 8 Georgia. The redshirt junio from Stamford, Conn., recorded a 376.20 on the 1-meter, and a 378.53 on the 3-meter.
UNC had high praise for both divers in Carolina's dual meet efforts against UGA, citing the two divers' consitency in the competition while also congratulating them on earning 2018 NCAA zone diving qualification in the first meet of the season.
