Tar Heels Move On At ITA Carolina Regionals

CARY, N.C. – North Carolina senior Robert Kelly won Saturday to advance to the Round of 16 at the ITA Carolina Regionals, being played at Cary Tennis Park. Kelly will play at 9 a.m. Sunday again South Carolina's Yancy Dennis. The winner moves on to a quarterfinals match, which will be played at 1:30 p.m.
Kelly also advanced in doubles, teaming with sophomore Simon Soendergaard. The two beat teams from Coastal Carolina and Campbell to reach the third round, where they'll meet Clemson's Simon Baudry and Alex Favrot on Sunday. Doubles play is set for the afternoon, beginning sometime after 2.
Sophomore Ladd Harrison stayed alive in the back draw, advancing to the second round with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Fernando Bernardes of USC Upstate. He'll play Sunday at 1 against Charlotte's Leonardo Menzes.
