First Day Completed At ITA Regionals

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina senior Maggie Kane upset 13th-seed Sabrina Barisano of UNCW in the first round of the Qualifying Singles draw on Thursday from Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
In doubles, three Tar Heel tandems picked up second round wins on Thursday, and will play Round of 16 matches on Friday morning at 9 a.m.
Main Draw Singles gets underway on Friday morning as well with six Carolina players in the 64-player field. Jessie Aney is the top seed, followed by third seed Makenna Jones, fifth seed Sara Daavettila and ninth seed Alexa Graham.
