Tar Heels Edge Memphis In Scrimmage

MEMPHIS, TENN. – Joel Berry II scored a game-high 14 points and had four assists and four steals in 21 minutes to lead the University of North Carolina to a 70-64 win over Memphis in a scrimmage Friday afternoon.
Berry made 4 of 6 three-pointers for Carolina, which shot 40.4 percent from the floor and was 7 of 20 from behind the arc . Luke Maye was the other Tar Heel to score in double figures with 11. Freshman Garrison Brooks grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
UNC committed 21 turnovers, but had 17 assists on 23 field goals, out-rebounded the Tigers 43-34, and made 11 steals.
Kyvon Davenport and Jamal Johnson led the Tigers with 11 points and Jeremiah Martin added 10. Memphis shot 35.7 percent from the floor and committed 18 turnovers.
