Busy Friday At ITA Carolinas Regional

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina advanced four players to the Round of 16 in the Main Draw Singles and three doubles tandems into the quarterfinals on Friday at the ITA Carolinas Regional from Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The first round of singles saw all six Carolina players win their matches, and four more - Jessie Aney, Sara Daavettila, Alexa Graham and Makenna Jones - all won second round matches to make up one-fourth of the Round of 16 participants that will compete Saturday at 11:15 a.m.
In doubles, the Tar Heel were a perfect 3-0 in Round of 16 matches on Friday. Alle Sanford and Sara Daavettila defeated Sabrina Barisano and Madara Straume of UNCW by a score of 8-5.
Makenna Jones and Chloe Ouellet-Pizer upended Adriano Reami and Amanda Rebol from NC State, 8-3, and No. 2 seed Jessie Aney and Alexa Graham took care of Presbyterian's Brittany Nuttall and Beth Taylor by an 8-3 margin.
Quarterfinal doubles matches begin on Saturday at 10 a.m.
