CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina athletic department and Harris Teeter have teamed up in the Million Meals Challenge to support local families in need and to help curb the North Carolina hunger epidemic. The Million Meals Challenge focuses on generating year long support with all donations going to the North Carolina Food Banks. From now until March 8, 2018, UNC will be competing with Duke, NC State and Wake Forest to see which students, fans, and alumni can donate the most. Help UNC win in the pursuit to collect a million meals!
UNC Athletics will be collecting any non-perishable donations at the Tar Heel women's soccer game on Thursday, October 26th at WakeMed Soccer Park's Koka Booth Stadium as North Carolina takes on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Game time Thursday is 6 p.m. To reward fans, students and alumni for participating in the Big 4 Million Meals Challenge, each donation of 3 of more items will receive a $5.00 gift card to Harris Teeter while supplies last.
There is no admission charge for Thursday's game and parking at WakeMed Soccer Park is free.
