Three To Compete In Main Draw At Riviera/ITA All-Americans

PACIFIC PALISADES, California - North Carolina's Jessie Aney and Sara Daavettila will compete in the Main Draw Singles, while Aney and Alexa Graham are set for the doubles draw at the 2017 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at Riviera Tennis Club. Both Main Draw singles and doubles will begin on Thursday.Â
Aney advanced to the main draw by winning three matches in the qualifying stage, including a third round match with Marta Gonzalez of Georgia that sent her into the 32-player field. Aney's first opponent in the main draw is Florida veteran Brooke Austin.Â
Daavettila garners the No. 3 overall seed and is scheduled to face qualifier and 27th ranked Felicity Maltby of Texas Tech on Thursday.Â
The 12th ranked duo of Aney and Graham will take on Utah's Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley.Â
No. 65 Makenna Jones was upended in her third round qualifying match by No. 30 Aliona Bolsova of Florida Atlantic. It marked the first loss of the season for the sophomore from Greenville, South Carolina, who had won her first eight singles matches this fall.Â
The main draw continues through the weekend in Southern California.
