Tar Heel Men’s Lacrosse Slated For “The Season” Video Project in 2017-18

Co-project of Inside Lacrosse & STX
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse program will be involved in a unique video project in association with Inside Lacrosse and STX during the course of the 2017-18 calendar year. Titled "The Season," Inside Lacrosse and STX have been rolling out initial information about the upcoming project in recent weeks.
Four accomplished NCAA Division I men's lacrosse programs will be featured during the year-long video and digital content series that will encompass 10 episodes and feature events from the fall ball practice season in 2017 through Memorial Day 2018, when an NCAA champion will be crowned.
The four schools featured include North Carolina, Ohio State, Duke and Syracuse. The Tar Heel program is coming off an ACC regular season championship and NCAA championship in 2016 and an ACC Tournament championship in 2017. Ohio State is coming off its most successful season in its history, having reached the NCAA title game last year. As an added twist, Joe Breschi, UNC's head coach since 2008, was the head of the program at OSU from 1997-2008, when it transitioned to a scholarship program and earned its first ever NCAA Tournament bids.
Syracuse and Duke are rivals of the Tar Heels in the prestigious Atlantic Coast Conference. The Blue Devils are the Tar Heels' arch-rivals just eight miles down the road in Durham, N.C. Duke has won three NCAA championships this decade. Syracuse is on its own mission in 2018, seeking a return to Memorial Day weekend for the first time since 2013.
"The Season" will revolve around 10 episodes shared between the fall season in September to the conclusion of the postseason in May. The series will be supported by live social media content shot on-site, as well as interactive social programs that will expose fans to their favorite programs in completely new ways. All of it will be integrated on an innovative new dot-com platform at www.theseason2018.com, and fans can register to receive updates as "The Season" gets underway.
UNC will share content updates on its main twitter account @uncmenslacrosse as well as providing occasional written updates about the series on GoHeels.com.
