Tar Heel Men’s Lacrosse Heads To Michael R. Breschi Scholarship Game

TOWSON, MD. – The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse program will continue its Fall Ball Lacrosse Season with the annual Michael R. Breschi Scholarship Fund game at Calvert Hall High School in Towson, Md., on Saturday 14, 2017.
The University of North Carolina and Ohio State University annually meet in a fall ball scrimmage at Calvert Hall with all proceeds going to benefit the Michael R. Breschi Scholarship Fund. Donations can be made online at www.mrbthumsup.org.
Michael R. Breschi was the eldest child of UNC head coach Joe Breschi and his wife Julie. Michael was born in Columbus, Ohio during Coach Breschi's tenure as head coach of the Buckeyes and passed away tragically when he was accidentally struck in a day care parking lot in 2004 by an automobile. Ohio State started a scholarship fund to honor Michael and Breschi and Ohio State coach Nick Myers combined to hold an annual game in Baltimore to raise money for the scholarship fund at Ohio State. Breschi coached the Buckeyes from 1997-2008 before leaving to coach at his alma mater in Chapel Hill in 2008. Myers, his chief assistant at OSU at the time, took over the Buckeyes' program.
This year's scrimmage will feature the Tar Heels, coming off an NCAA championship in 2016 and an ACC title in 2017. Ohio State reached the NCAA Final Four for the first time in school history in 2017 before falling Maryland in the NCAA championship game.
This year's youth clinic and UNC vs. OSU scrimmage will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Calvert Hall High School which is located at 8102 LaSalle Road, Towson, MD 21286.
A youth clinic for players in grades 1-8 led by the coaches and players of Ohio State and UNC will be held at 4 p.m. OSU and UNC will scrimmage at 6 p.m. at Calvert Hall.
There is a $5 admission with kids under 12 free. A post-game meal and tailgate with the UNC and OSU teams is available for $20.
