CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Marika Akkerman and Chloe Ouellet-Pizer placed tied for fourth overall in singles at the 14th annual Kitty Harrison Invitational as the tournament came to a close on Sunday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels swept the Maryland Terrapins in their singles matchup Sunday morning. Akkerman defeated Alexandrova by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7). Ouellet-Pizer handled Sullivan 6-4, 6-2. Cassandra Vazquez earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Stretton. Maggie Kane topped Usui 4-6, 7-6 (8), 1-0 (10-7).
Akkerman, Ouellet-Pizer and Vazquez all went a perfect 3-0 in singles over the three-day span.
