Baldwin Tapped As ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week

Captures award for second time this season.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina's Caroline Baldwin has been named the ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week from November 27 through December 3. This is the second time this year that Baldwin has won the award. She was also named the ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week on October 31.
Baldwin won three individual events at the Tennessee Invitational, capturing the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. She also led the 200-yard freestyle relay to victory while the Tar Heels' 400-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay placed second in the meet.
Baldwin achieved NCAA "A" automatic qualifying times in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Her time in the 100 back was an NCAA "B" qualifying time.
In winning the 50 free, she clocked a 21.48. That broke the ACC record of 21.57 set by Louisville's Kelsi Worrell on March 17, 2016. It also broke her own school record of 21.78 set last year. Her time ranks second in the nation this year behind only California's Abbey Weitzeil at 21.44.
In winning the 100 back, she clocked a 51.95. She ranks 14th in the nation in that event.
In winning the 100 free, she clocked a 47.14. She broke her own school record in the event which she set last year at 47.70. Her time ranks third in the nation this year behind only Mallory Comerford of Louisville and Abbey Weitzeil of California.
