August 14, 2017 | Volleyball
CHAPEL HILL – The ACC and ESPN have continued their partnership for 2017-18 to bring the majority of North Carolina's volleyball matches to air on ESPN's platform. All 20 of UNC's ACC regular-season matches as well as the Tar Heels' home nonconference matches will be carried on ESPN's digital platform, with Carolina appearing in two televised matches on ESPNU.
Carolina's conference matches at Georgia Tech (Sunday, Oct. 1, 3 p.m.) and Florida State (Friday, Oct. 27, 6:30 p.m.) will air live on ESPNU. The remaining 18 ACC matches will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, which can be found on WatchESPN. North Carolina's matches at the Carolina Classic (Sept. 8-10) as well as the nonconference home matches against Loyola Marymount and Coastal Carolina (Sept. 15-16) will air on ACCNE as well. Anyone with a cable subscription or participating streaming service that includes ESPN will have access to all ACCNE content.
Prior to the home opener, Carolina will play in two preconference tournaments on the road. The ACC/SEC Puerto Rico Clasico (Sept. 2-3) will be streamed live on FloVolleyball.tv. Access requires purchasing a monthly or annual FloPRO subscription. The regular-season opens in Madison, Wisconsin, at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, where No. 11 UNC will take on No. 4 Minnesota and No. 7 Wisconsin. Broadcast information for the Big Ten has not yet been released.
Fans can get a first look at the 2017 Tar Heels at home this Saturday, Aug. 19, at the annual Blue & White Match. The intersquad scrimmage, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Carmichael Arena at 5 p.m.
