Softball Announces Fall Schedule

CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina softball team has released its exhibition schedule for this fall, featuring a total of six games over two weekends in September and October. Highlights of the fall slate include a home and home series with Elon and a visit from SEC powerhouse Georgia.
The fall begins at home on Saturday, Sept. 30, when UNC hosts Georgia and East Carolina in a round robin. ECU and UGA kick off the day with a neutral game at Noon, then Carolina faces the Bulldogs at 2:30 and the Pirates at 5 p.m.
The following afternoon, on Sunday, Oct. 1, the Tar Heels head to Elon, North Carolina, to face the Phoenix. After a weekend off, Carolina hosts Elon on Friday, Oct. 13. UNC's interscholastic play wraps up on Sunday, Oct. 15, with a three-game round robin against UNCW and UNCG beginning with the neutral game at Noon.
Carolina returns the majority of its lineup from its successful 2017 campaign, which included an appearance in the ACC Championship game and the NCAA Regional Finals. The 2018 regular season will begin in early February.
