CHAPEL HILL—Tar Heel fans can listen to TuneIn for free, live streaming and on-demand audio broadcasts this season as University of North Carolina Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield's Tar Heel Sports Properties, announced a multi-year partnership with the world's leading audio network on Wednesday.
The new agreement between Learfield and TuneIn provides Tar Heel fans complimentary access to a dedicated UNC channel to find Tar Heels' radio play-by-play and full team coverage. At home or on-the-go, TuneIn will air live football and men's basketball games, as well as pre-game and post-game broadcasts, podcasts, coaches' shows and game replays. TuneIn's UNC Network channel will also air live select women's basketball, baseball and other game broadcasts throughout the season.
Fans can listen to each UNC game live for FREE on the TuneIn app. Simply search "UNC" or "Tar Heels" on the app or visit http://listen.tunein.com/tarheels TuneIn is available for download on iOS and Android, plus more than 200 connected devices.
"I'm so excited about our new relationship with TuneIn," said North Carolina play-by-play announcer Jones Angell. "The Tar Heel fan base is one of the largest and most passionate in the country and TuneIn will give them access to great Carolina content on game day and throughout the week."
In the event of a University broadcast conflict, TuneIn will air live the marquee sport as determined by UNC Athletics. TuneIn will air any postseason broadcast in which Learfield and UNC retain the streaming rights.
