Oracle ITA preseason rankings were announced Tuesday
North Carolina sophomore William Blumberg will open the 2017-18 collegiate men's tennis season ranked No. 5 in singles, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Tuesday. Additionally, Blumberg and senior Robert Kelly are ranked No. 3 in doubles.

The Oracle ITA Collegiate Tennis Men's Division I preseason rankings will stand for the fall season, with the next rankings coming in January of 2018.

As a freshman, Blumberg became the first Tar Heel ever to reach the finals of the NCAA singles tournament. He was the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA men's tennis team tournament, in which UNC finished as the runner-up for the program's highest finish ever. The ITA National Rookie of the Year and ACC Freshman of the Year, Blumberg earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles.

Kelly, a two-time All-America in doubles, is ranked No. 48 in singles in addition to his top-three doubles spot.

Junior Blaine Boyden is ranked No. 106 in singles.

Sophomores Josh Peck and Simon Soendergaard are ranked No. 59 in doubles.
