Duke Bonk Invite Draws

CARY, N.C. – UNC men's tennis sophomores Simon Soendergaard and Josh Peck both won Saturday at the Duke James Bonk Invite to earn spots in the finals of their respective draws. They'll both play for championships Sunday morning at Cary Tennis Park, Soendergaard in the A1 draw and Peck in the A2 draw.

Both are set to play at 10 a.m. against Triangle rivals. Soendergaard, seeded second in his draw, will face top-seeded Spencer Furman of Duke. Peck, the third seed, will take on unseeded Georgiy Malyshev of NC State.

On Saturday, Soendergaard beat another Duke player, Nick Stachowiak 7-6(5), 6-1 to reach the finals. Peck also won in straight set to advance, beating NC State's Igor Saveljic 6-1, 7-6 (2).

In the B singles bracket, UNC's Ladd Harrison will play in the consolation final, faing Charlotte's Oriol Puig Fome. Harrison and Kavir Kumar teamed Saturday to win the consolation of the B doubles draw.
