Top Drawer Soccer Names Winn As National POW
September 27, 2017 | Men's Soccer
Senior forward Alan Winn picked up his second National Player of the Week honor in as many weeks when Top Drawer Soccer selected him as their top player for his efforts between Sept. 18-24.
The Garland, Texas, native scored a trio of goals in two victories. Winn scored twice in a 4-1 victory over George Washington and then added another last Friday night in the 2-1 road win at No. 9 Virginia.
The three goals gives him seven tallies on the season, eclipsing his previous career high of six goals nabbed during the 2015 campaign.
Fresh off a 4-0 win Tuesday night over Winthrop, No. 5 North Carolina hosts NC State on Friday at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., at 7 p.m. The Tar Heels sit atop the Coastal Division standings with nine points from three league matches.
