CHAPEL HILL --- Former standout wide receiver Quinshad Davis has returned to the North Carolina football program as an offensive graduate assistant. The program's all-time leader in career touchdown receptions, Davis begins his coaching career after stints in professional football with the Detroit Lions and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
A native of Gaffney, South Carolina, Davis was a member of head coach Larry Fedora's first signing class in 2012. He made an immediate impact on the field, catching 61 balls for 776 yards and five touchdowns as a true freshman. Davis finished his career with 205 receptions for 2,614 yards and 25 touchdowns, all of which rank in the top five all-time at UNC.
Davis' defining moment at Carolina came late in the 2015 season. With the Tar Heels trailing 27-24 in overtime at Virginia Tech, Davis caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Marquise Williams to win the game and clinch the Coastal Division title and a spot in the ACC Championship Game for UNC.
Davis holds a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science from Carolina. In his GA role, he will primarily work with the Tar Heel wide receivers, assisting his former position coach and co-offensive coordinator, Gunter Brewer.
