Alcorta Named To All-ACC Academic Team

Caroline Alcorta, a senior who is majoring in psychology, has been named to the 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team for women's cross country, the league announced Tuesday. The honor recognizes student-athletes from conference schools who excel academically and athletically.
Alcorta, from Springfield, Va., earned All-Region and All-ACC honors during her senior season. She was a three-time all-conference finisher in cross country at UNC and was the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2014.
She is one of 30 ACC student-athletes named to the women's cross country team. Syracuse's Paige Stoner was honored as the ACC Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Georgia Tech's Nahom Solomon was honored as the ACC Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
To be considered for the All-ACC Academic teams, conference student-athletes must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average for the fall semester, as well as a cumulative 3.0 over the course of their college careers.
