Comsia Named To All-ACC Academic Team

Alex Comsia, a junior who is majoring in business administration, has been named to the 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team for men's soccer, the league announced Thursday morning. The honor recognizes student-athletes from conference schools who excel academically and athletically.

Comsia, a defender from North Vancouver, British Columbia, started all 22 games for the Tar Heels in 2017 as they reached the College Cup for the second year in a row. A Scholar All-South Region and second team Scholar All-America honoree, he led the team in minutes played with 1,977.

He has been named to the All-ACC Academic team in each year of his career.

To be considered for the honor, conference student-athletes must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average for the fall semester, as well as a cumulative 3.0 over the course of their college careers.
