CHAPEL HILL --- Luke Paschall has joined the North Carolina football coaching staff, head coach Larry Fedora announced Thursday.
Paschall, who spent two previous seasons in Chapel Hill under Fedora as an offensive graduate assistant, returns to UNC after four years as the wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator at Arkansas State.
"We are thrilled to have Luke back as a part of our staff," Fedora said. "He is a talented offensive coach who also shares my passion for game-changing special teams play. We look forward to having Luke, his wife Lauren and their daughter Emma Rose as part of the Tar Heel family."
"I'm happy to be back at Carolina and working with Coach Fedora and his staff once again," Paschall said. "My first two years here were very special, and Lauren and I are excited to bring our daughter here and make Chapel Hill home."
Paschall was a four-year letterman at wide receiver at Middle Tennessee. A former walk-on who earned a scholarship as a sophomore, he caught 13 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown as a senior. A native of Dickson, Tennessee, Paschall earned a psychology degree in 2006 and a master's in sports management in 2007 from MTSU.
Paschall spent the 2007 season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community?College, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to an NJCAA national championship. He then spent three years at Oklahoma State as an offensive graduate assistant (2008-09) and quality control assistant (2010). Paschall worked with one of the nation's most prolific offenses at OSU, coaching former NFL quarterback Zac Robinson and current Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant during his tenure.
Following one season at Ole Miss as an offensive graduate assistant, Paschall came to Chapel Hill as a part of Fedora's first staff at Carolina. He worked primarily with wide receivers and special teams during his first stint at UNC, coaching record-setting returners Giovani Bernard and Ryan Switzer as well as all-time leading receiver Quinshad Davis.
Paschall left Carolina following the 2013 season to join former UNC offensive coordinator Blake Anderson's first staff at Arkansas State. The Red Wolves won a pair of Sun Belt titles in Paschall's four seasons in Jonesboro and made four consecutive bowl appearances, including a Cure Bowl win over UCF following the 2016 season.
Paschall is married to the former Lauren Hediger and the couple has a daughter, Emma Rose.
