UNC's Top Doubles Team Earns ACC Weekly Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina's Robert Kelly and William Blumberg have bee named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
Kelly, a senior from Chapel Hill, and Blumberg, from Greenwich, Conn., are the nation's No. 6 doubles team and are 9-3 this spring.
On Saturday, they defeated Duke's top team, Nick Stachowiak and Spencer Furman,, 7-5 at the No. 1 doubles spot after rallying from a 3-5 deficit.. The win gave the Tar Heels the critical doubles point in the match, which Carolina went on to win 4-3.
Duke's Nicolas Alvarez was named the ACC Player of the Week.
Fifth-ranked UNC, 11-3 overall and 2-0 in ACC play, travels to Raleigh Wednesday to take on No. 16 NC State. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and is likely to be played indoors.
