Lane closed out her career in Carmichael Arena with three matched personal bests, a new record in the all-around, and four top-two finishes.
Lane Named EAGL Gymnast of the Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — In the last group of weekly EAGL awards, senior Morgan Lane was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the first time this season. The all-around competitor for Carolina said goodbye to Carmichael Arena with a record performance against the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday, March 17th.
Lane bested her personal best all-around total by 0.150 to earn a first-place score of 39.550, putting her at fifth all-time in the UNC record books for all-around scores. The senior also matched career-highs on vault (9.875), beam (9.950), and floor (9.925) which earned her first-place accolades on beam and second-place on vault and floor. She was outscored on vault and floor exercise only by teammate Khazia Hislop who went on to win EAGL Specialist of the Week for her own achievements against Pitt. Lane also tied for sixth-place honors on the uneven bars, scoring 9.800 in that event.
The senior is ranked 43rd in the country in the all-around competition (RQS 39.275) and is tied for 44th and 54th on balance beam (RQS 9.880) and floor exercise (RQS 9.885), respectively.
In the East Atlantic Gymnastics League, Lane is ranked in the top five competitors on beam (T-4th), floor (T-3rd), and the all-around (4th).
The Tar Heels will head to Towson, Md. for the EAGL Championship competition on Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. EST.
