Nine gymnasts finished in the top 16 scores at the 2018 EAGL Championship to earn either first- or second-team accolades across five events.
Nine Tar Heels Named to EAGL All-Tournament Teams

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The East Atlantic Gymnastics League announced its all-tournament teams as well as its 2018 Annual Awards on Monday, March 26th.
Nine Carolina gymnasts managed to rack up 15 spots on the nine all-tournament teams, including ten on first teams and five on second. First All-Tournament Teams include No. 1 - No. 8 out of 36 competitors including ties and Second All-Tournament Teams include No. 9 - No. 16 including ties.
UNC also claimed not one but two individual EAGL Champion titles. The first EAGL Champions since Morgan Lane was named co-champion on floor exercise in 2015, Khazia Hislop won floor exercise and Madison Nettles finished as EAGL co-champion on vault. North Carolina last had two or more individual EAGL Champions eight years ago in 2010 when UNC had four individual champions.
Senior Madison Nettles (9.900) and sophomores Alexis Allen (9.850), Khazia Hislop, (9.850) and Mikayla Robinson (9.850) were all named to first-team vault while junior Madison Hargrave and senior Morgan Lane received second-team honors on vault with scores of 9.800.
Senior Kaitlynn Hedelund received second-team accolades for her score of 9.800 on bars in the EAGL Championship competition, and Morgan Lane made the first-team on balance beam with a score of 9.925.
All six Tar Heel competitors on floor exercise were named to either the first or second all-tournament teams. Khazia Hislop (9.950), Morgan Lane (9.925), Lauren Weisel (9.875), and Lily Dean (9.875) were named to first-team floor and Madison Hargrave and Mikayla Robinson were named second-team floor with scores of 9.850.
Morgan Lane earned a spot on the first all-tournament team in the all-around competition, placing second with a score of 39.375.
