Cameron Johnson Undergoes Arthroscopic Hip Procedure

CHAPEL HILL – University of North Carolina guard Cameron Johnson underwent an arthroscopic hip procedure Monday in Minneapolis, Minn.

Johnson is expected to make a full recovery for the 2018-19 season.

Johnson played in 26 games and made 20 starts in 2017-18 in his first season with the Tar Heels. The Moon Township, Pa., native was second on the team in free throw percentage (.847), and third in scoring (12.4) and rebounding (4.7). He made 47 three-pointers and scored in double figures 19 times. Johnson led Carolina in scoring three times (both games vs. Clemson and at Duke), and scored 20 or more points three times, including a career-best 32 at Clemson.

He has scored 906 points in 99 games in his college career (9.2).
