Aney/Graham Top No. 1 Doubles Rankings

The North Carolina doubles tandem of Jessie Aney and Alexa Graham take over as the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the country, while the Carolina women's tennis team remains the top-ranked team nationally, according to the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released on Tuesday.
Previously ranked No. 2 as of two weeks ago, Aney and Graham moved up one spot thanks to a 12-match winning streak and a 22-4 overall mark. The duo is a perfect 7-0 against the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Alle Sanford and Sara Daavettila are No. 20 this week.
The Tar Heels remain the only team in Division I women's tennis with six ranked players. Led by No. 14 Makenna Jones, the sophomore is followed by No. 22 Alle Sanford, No. 30 Sara Daavettila, No. 71 Jessie Aney, No. 76 Alexa Graham and No. 117 Chloe Ouellet-Pizer.
North Carolina (18-2, 7-1 ACC) has a two-match road swing this weekend, beginning with Notre Dame on Friday at 4 p.m., and concluding at Louisville on Sunday at 11 a.m.
UNC begins the first week of April one-half game behind Duke (16-1, 8-0) in the ACC standings. The Tar Heels and Blue Devils face each other on Friday, April 20 in Durham.
Carolina sits No. 1 in the team rankings for the ninth-consecutive week. The top five also includes Vanderbilt, Duke and Georgia Tech from the ACC, and South Carolina.
The ACC also boasts No. 18 Miami, No. 19 Florida State, No. 20 Virginia and No. 25 Syracuse.
The Tar Heels return home to take on No. 20 Virginia on Friday, April 13 at 3 p.m. The Cavaliers are led by first-year head coach Sara O'Leary, who under her maiden name of Anundsen, won a 2007 NCAA doubles title at North Carolina.
UVa's assistant coach is Gina Suarez-Malaguit, also a former Tar Heel All-America that was named the 2013 ACC Player of the Year.
