#1 UNC Remains Atop ACC Standings With 6-1 Win At UofL

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky - Junior Chloe Ouellet-Pizer won the clinching point to help No. 1 North Carolina to a 6-1 victory at Louisville on Sunday morning from the Bass Rudd Tennis Complex.
North Carolina (20-2, 9-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) extended its winning streak to four matches to remain tied for the lead in the ACC and registered its 20th dual match win of 2018 in the victory over the Cardinals, who have now lost five-straight matches and sits 3-7 in the ACC and 13-8 overall.
The nation's top ranked doubles tandem of Jessie Aney and Alexa Graham secured the opening point for UNC with a 6-2 win on court one for an early 1-0 lead.
The Tar Heels continued their momentum into singles play by winning the first five matches to take a commanding 6-0 lead. Marika Akkerman, No. 30 Sara Daavettila, No. 117 Ouellet-Pizer and No. 76 Alexa Graham posted straight-set victories to make it 5-0.
On court one, No. 14 Makenna Jones recorded a come-back victory over Aleksandra Mally, before Raven Neely gave Louisville its lone point of the match on court four.
UNC is back home to host No. 20 Virginia on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.
