Josh Webb is in his 15th season on the UNC fencing staff and currently serves as the Associate Head Coach, a position to which he was promoted in 2017. Webb has been part of the Carolina program for almost two decades, first as a student-athlete and then as an assistant coach.

After working with all three weapons earlier in his coaching career, Webb now focuses on the epee fencers. Additionally, he plans the team’s travel and serves as the liaison with compliance, academics, sports medicine and admissions.

A 2003 UNC graduate with a degree in psychology, Webb was a three-time epee squad captain and a four-year starter for the Tar Heels. Prior to coming to Carolina, Webb was a standout multi-sport athlete at Northwest Guilford High School, where he ran cross country and swam. In addition to fencing, he has also competed in pistol shooting, horseback riding, and swimming as a part of modern pentathlon.

Joseph.
