1927— Addison Warren: Football, Boxing, Wrestling (Durham N.C.)
Captained UNC’s first three boxing teams and was captain of the wrestling team. Won the South Atlantic AAU light heavyweight and heavyweight titles and won the national junior heavyweight title in 1926. Also was runner-up that year for the heavyweight title in 1926. Went on to compete in 58 fights as a pro boxer. Retired from professional boxing with a record of 41-11-6 and 29 knockouts. He then coached the Duke Boxing and wrestling teams, where he coached three individual national champions in boxing. Warren served as a physical training instructor in the U.S. Naval Reserves during World War II at the Naval Amphibious Training Base in Fort Pierce, FL.
