1986— Brad Daugherty: Men’s Basketball (Black Mountain, N.C.)
Daugherty was First-team All-ACC in 1985 and 1986, a first-team USBWA All-America and Wooden Award finalist as a senior in 1986 when he led the ACC in scoring and rebounding. He is Carolina's all-time leader in career field goal percentage at .620. Daugherty scored 1,912 points and 1,003 rebounds and is currently top 10 at UNC in field goal shooting, rebounding and points. Led UNC to a 111-26 record and two Elite Eight appearances.
Was selected as the first pick overall by Cleveland in the 1986 NBA Draft, being one of two Tar Heels (with James Worthy) selected as the overall top pick in the Draft. Averaged 19.0 points in eight NBA seasons, was a five-time all-star and had his number retired by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Top 10 in Cleveland history in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and blocks.
Is an NBA, college basketball and NASCAR TV analyst. Daugherty is a NASCAR team owner with his JTG Daugherty Racing team winning the 2023 Daytona 500, making Daugherty the first Black principal owner to win the Daytona 500.
