1944— Denny Hammond: Men's Swimming (Atlanta, Ga.)
Established a national intercollegiate record in the backstroke. Teams won the Southern Conference in 1942, 1943 and 1944. The 1942 team tied for 12th in the country. Was a first-team All-America in 1942 in the 150-yard backstroke, the 300-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay and in 1944 in the 300-yard medley relay. Won Southern Conference titles in 1942 and 1943 in the 150-yard back and in 1943 in the 220-yard free.
