1992— Dwight Hollier: Football (Hampton, Va.)
Four-year starter and two-time captain. In 1990, he became the first underclassman to be named captain since 1946. The following season he was the first player to captain the football team in consecutive seasons since 1915.
Earned second-team All-ACC honors as a sophomore and was first-team as a junior (he missed several games as a senior due to injury). Was named UNC’s Most Outstanding Senior in 1991.
Led Tar Heels in tackles each of his first three seasons and made 502 tackles for his career, the most since defensive stats were recorded. Averaged 12.6 tackles per game. Made a career-high 21 tackles twice. Averaged 15 tackles in four games against Clemson.
Selected in the fourth round of the 1992 NFL Draft by Miami and played nine seasons in the NFL.
He served as Vice President of Wellness and Clinical Services for the NFL and returned to UNC in 2018 as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Health, Well-Being and Program Outreach.
