1979— Greg Norris: Baseball (Whiteville, N.C.)
The ACC Player of the Year in 1978 when he went 14-2 with a 1.75 ERA and 118 strikeouts. Pitched a no-hitter vs. East Tennessee State. First-team All-America (coaches) in ’78. Played for Team USA in the World Championship. Went 23-6 with a 2.54 earned run average in three seasons as a Tar Heel. As of 2023 still holds UNC single-season records with 14 wins and 13 complete games.
