1946— Jim Jordan: Men’s Basketball (Chester, W.Va.)
The U.S. Navy transferred him from Mt. St. Mary’s College to the ROTC unit at UNC. Helped UNC post a 22-6 record and was the only unanimous selection to the All-Southern Conference team in 1945. Was a standout on the 1946 team that posted a 30-5 record and reached the NCAA finals before losing to Oklahoma A&M. A second-team All-America in 1945. Led the team in scoring in 1945 (11.2 ppg) and was second in 1946 (11.2). Led UNC with 19 points in the 1945 Southern Conference Tournament championship game win over Duke. Career-high 32 points in 1946 win over the Greensboro O.R.D. (Overseas Replacement Depot), one of nine times he led UNC in scoring en route to the 1946 national championship game.
