1962— Ray Farris Jr.: Football (Charlotte, N.C.)
Quarterback and punter. High School All-American and state champion at Myers Park. Second-team All-ACC quarterback in 1961. Rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 875 yards and two scores. His father, Ray Sr., won the Patterson Medal in 1930. They are the only father-son to win the award. One of four generations in the family to compete in athletics at UNC.
