1961— Rip Hawkins: Football (Winchester, Tennessee)
Played center and linebacker for the Tar Heels. First-team All-ACC center in 1959 and 1960. Co-captain. Named the national lineman of the week by the Associated Press after an upset win over Duke. Played in four college all-star games. Was the second player ever selected by the Vikings franchise where he played five seasons. Served as captain from 1962-65. Selected to the Pro Bowl in 1964. Became a district attorney in Atlanta in 1972.
