Tar Heel Student-Athletes Honored at All-Sports Dinner

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--Outstanding Tar Heel student-athletes were honored for a year of hard work at Monday evening's All-Sports Dinner. The event included the athletes and coaches from all 28 varsity sports at North Carolina and was held at the Dean E. Smith Center.
Recognized as winners of the ACC Senior Scholar-Athlete Award, given to one male and one female from each ACC school who demonstrate excellence in academics and athletics, were Jennifer DeLuca (gymnastics) and Ted Brisson (swimming).
ACC Top Six Awards, given to student-athletes who demonstrate dedication and commitment to community service and outreach programs, went to Alicia Alford (volleyball), Michael Bucy (soccer), Ebenezer Ekuban (football), Karen Greenberg (lacrosse), Regan Leahy (track and field) and Corey Richardson (baseball).
Katie Loovis (lacrosse) and Ebenezer Ekuban (football) were honored with Mildred McCaskill Awards.
A student-athlete from each team was honored with the Athletic Director's Award, in recognition for excellence in both academics and athletics. Receiving those awards were: Corey Richardson (baseball), Brad Frederick (men's basketball), Jessica Gaspar (women's basketball), Bill Jackson (men's cross country), Tori Irvine (women's cross country), Stockton Butler (men's fencing), Janet Cummings (women's fencing), Stacey Schweighart (field hockey), Ebenezer Ekuban (football), Max Harris (men's golf), Sara Levin (women's golf), Jennifer DeLuca (gymnastics), Jarron Harkness (men's lacrosse), Katie Loovis (women's lacrosse), Sam Hermitte (rowing), Brian Mascia (men's soccer), Cindy Parlow (women's soccer), Colleen Lefferts (softball), Ted Brisson (men's swimming and diving), Beth Schlessman (women's swimming and diving), Tripp Phillips (men's tennis), Emi Shaffer (women's tennis), Mike McKeeman (men's track and field), Jennifer Dixon (women's track and field), Erin Berg (volleyball) and Jamie Groudle (wrestling.)
