Dominic Demeritte Qualifies for Pan American Games, World Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - University of North Carolina senior sprinter Dominic Demeritte qualified for the Pan American Games and the World Championships in the 200 meters by recording a lifetime best of 20.57 seconds in the Bahamas National Championships. Demeritte's previous best was 20.61, third best in UNC history and also third best recorded in the ACC last season.
The Pan American Games will be held July 23 - August 8 in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada, and the World Championships will be held August 21 - 29 in Sevilla, Spain. Demeritte is a native of Nassau, Bahamas.
