Throughout the year, Carolina wrestlers Corey Bell and Brad Byers will provide TarHeelBlue.com with a diary of their season. Bell, a senior from Durham, N.C., is a three-time ACC champion who will compete at 174 lbs. for the Tar Heels. Byers, a junior from Hudson, Ohio, wrestles at 133 lbs. and looks to once again contend for All-America honors.
Check back periodically for more diary entries during the season as these two look to help lead Coach Bill Lam's squad to its fifth consecutive ACC title.

Another Day On The "Hill"
I have been doing two-a-days for quite some time now, and it's now starting to get a bit interesting. It's starting to become fun, I think I am beginning to enjoy this sunrise thing. Why is this. Why, why? Simple, I get to see my teammates twice as much. I get to see my "brothers" first thing in the morning, I love it. It's like a big family reunion every morning, the only difference is that we can't cook. We might be the only family that ain't got no food to eat, but that don't matter much. Just because we ain't got no food, don't mean we can't dance, and have a good time getting big. Yeah, dancing and getting big.
Even though I do like the morning workouts, it does worry me somewhat that I am beginning to like getting up so early. I have always been the type of person that needs some type of adversity, some type of struggle in my way in order for me to be satisfied. I just don't think the sunrise workouts are satisfying my need for hardship. I pondered for a while and then I found my answer. The "Campus Survival Hike" would be my new test. Could I overcome this obstacle? I discussed it with my ACT Mentee Summer Knowles. Summer laughed at me and suggested that I was foolish for even thinking about trying, she said that it was a suicide mission. This conversion reminded me of my main man "Rock" in Rocky IV when his wife told him that he couldn't beat the Russian.
What is the "Campus Survival Hike"? To find out ask Summer Knowles, or keep your eyes open for my next entry.

It's 8:15 a.m., I just got home from a morning lift with the whole team. The guys were crazy this morning, Corey Bell was leading the chaos as usual. We were all too awake for 6:30 a.m. I think we are starting to get used to this two-a-day stuff.
We are really starting to come together as team. I am beginning to see a lot of guys starting to do things right...it's really kind of exciting. We have four months to accomplish our goals, it will go by fast. It is going to be an exciting year.
