Weekend Roundup: Looking Back At A Big Three Days in Chapel Hill
November 13, 2000 | General
After a weekend that saw the men's basketball team win the NABC Classic, the football team post an important homecoming win over Maryland and the women's soccer and field hockey teams advance in their respective NCAA Tournaments, we wanted to take a closer look at a successful weekend on the UNC campus.
In action on the road, the men's soccer team won its first ACC Championship since 1987 and the Tar Heel women's cross country team placed second at the Southeast Regionals on Saturday at Furman University. In volleyball, Carolina dropped a tight five-set match at Georgia Tech, but Coach Joe Sagula's squad is 23-7 and ready to battle at next weekend's ACCTournament. UNC's rowers were also in action over the weekend, as they competed at the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville, Va. It was their final regatta of the fall season.
