UNC Softball's Natalie Anter Named ACC Player Of The Week

CHAPEL HILL - Sophomore catcher Natalie Anter has been named ACC Player of the Week for her performances during the week of Feb. 14-20, when the Tar Heels went 6-1 and reached the championship game of their tournament, the Triangle Classic. Anter, who is from Upland, Calif., batted .333 for the week, with six RBI. She hit a grand slam home run against Akron on Saturday and totaled five RBI in UNC's 11-0 win. Against East Carolina on Sunday, she went three-for-three at the plate as Carolina won 5-0 to advance to the Triangle Classic championship. UNC suffered its first loss of the season in the title game, 4-1 against Alabama.
Anter is batting .344 for the season for the Tar Heels, who are 10-1 and hitting .335 as a team. She is the second UNC player to win ACC honors this season, sophomore Kelly Ramsey earned Player of the Week accolades in the first week of the season.
Carolina returns to action this weekend, playing in the Louisiana Classics tournament in Lafayette, La., beginning on Friday.
