Final Four Big Screen Telecast at Smith Center

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina basketball fans wanting to watch the NCAA Final Four games in a big screen telecast format are invited to come to the Dean E. Smith Center on Saturday, April 1, 2000. There will be a 15 x 20 video screen in place as well as four video walls functioning. UNC students with IDs will be admitted to the building beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The general public will be admitted beginning at 5 p.m. Admission to the building will be free of charge.
Parking will be free to students and the public in both the Bowles Lot and the Business School Parking Deck. Concessions will be open in the Smith Center. The first game will tip off at 5:42 p.m. featuring the Michigan State Spartans and the Wisconsin Badgers in an All-Big Ten battle. Thirty-five minutes after the conclusion of the first semifinal game our South Regional champion Tar Heels will play the Florida Gators of the SEC.
If the Tar Heels win on Saturday, the doors will open again on Monday, April 3, 2000 at 8 p.m. for UNC students with IDs and at 8:30 p.m. for the general public. Tipoff time for the NCAA championship game on Monday is 9:18 p.m.
So grab a friend or two and make your way to the Smith Center on Saturday to root the Tar Heels on to the first national championship of the 21st Century.
