Freshman Quinn Porter has been named ACC Player of the Week and junior Radara McHugh Pitcher of the Week in recognition of their outstanding softball performances over the last seven days.

Porter, a right fielder from Wesley Chapel, Fla., batted .455 over five games and hit a grand slam home run Sunday against Radford. She was named to the Tar Heel Invitational All-Tournament team.

McHugh, a right-hander from Tulsa, Okla., earned three wins last week, including a no-hitter on Wednesday at UNC-Charlotte. Only a walk delivered to first batter she faced kept her from a perfect game. She gave up just two earned runs in two games at the Tar Heel Invitational Saturday and Sunday to earn tournament MVP honors. Now 17-4 on the season, McHugh has an ERA of 0.90.

The Tar Heels, 37-13 on the season, host UNC-Wilmington Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Finley Field.
