CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - For the first time ever the University of North Carolina will offer an all-sports pass for the Tar Heels' 2000-01 Olympic Sports schedule. This is an opportunity for townspeople and other Triangle area fans to save significantly over the individual per game charges for sports like women's basketball, soccer and baseball at the University.
Savings from the all-sports pass can start to be accrued as early as September 1, 2000 when the Tar Heels' preseason #1-ranked women's soccer team plays host to Virginia at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field. Savings from buying the pass can be gained all the way through the end of the 2000-01 athletic year with the sport of baseball next May.
This year Carolina is happy to offer an Olympic Sport Pass which will grant admission to Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Wrestling, Men's Lacrosse and Baseball without having to stand in line to purchase tickets for these sports individually. The price of the pass is only $160 for adults and $80 for Students (aged 13 and above non-UNC students at junior high, high school and college level)/Senior Citizens (ages 60 and over), admission for children 12 and under is free to Olympic sports event at UNC. The price is nearly half off the price of paying for each event on a game-by-game basis. Individual games this season will be priced the same as last year, with Adults being $4 and Students/Senior Citizens being $2. Women's Basketball will once again be $5 for Adults and $3 for Student/Senior Citizen.
For those who choose to purchase the pass, all benefits that would normally be received from purchasing season tickets for the individual sport will be received along with sport schedules as they become available. For example, if the Olympic Sport Pass were purchased, one would still receive the benefits of purchasing a Women's Basketball season ticket such as a parking pass.
The Olympic Sport Pass can be obtained by calling the UNC Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-722-4335 or coming in person to the Athletic Ticket Office located at the front of the Koury Natatorium.
