Carolina Wrestlers Take 21-13 Decision Over Navy

The University of North Carolina wrestling team used a technical fall from Chris Collins and a major decision from JohnMark Bentley en route to a 21-13 victory over Navy Saturday afternoon in Annapolis, Md. Carolina took six of the 10 matches and improved to 7-4 heading into the final two matches of the season.
entley, the 7th-ranked 149-pound wrestler in the country, defeated Tom Storer, 20-8, and is now 24-1 for the season. Bentley also pushed his winning streak to 15 consecutive matches. Collins beat Jonathon Padgett, 17-2, at 125 pounds and has won five of his last seven matches either by pin fall or technical fall.
Brad Byers decisioned the Midshipmen's Jason Homestead, 8-3, at 133 pounds, while Corey Bell took a narrow 5-4 decision at 174. Clint Osborn won an 8-4 decision at 197 and heavyweight Matt Kenny rounded out the scoring with an 8-5 decision over Steve Kovach.
The Tar Heels are back in action Sunday afternoon when they host Maryland at 2 p.m. in Carmichael Auditorium. The regular season then winds down on Feb. 15, when NC State visits Chapel Hill for the last dual meet before the ACC and NCAA Championships.
