Three Tar Heels Named To Academic All-District Teams

Three UNC student-athletes have been selected to the Verizon Academic All-District III first team and are in the running for Academic All-America honors. The All-America team will be announced on April 19.
Carolina field hockey players Holly Huff and Jana Toepel earned spots on the women's at-large team for fall and winter sports, while soccer player Michael Bucy was named to the men's at-large team.
Huff, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., is an English major and carries a 3.86 grade point average. Toepel, a senior from Perkiomenville, Pa., is majoring in business administration with a minor in French and has a 3.86 GPA. Bucy, a senior from Raleigh, has a GPA of 3.95 and is majoring in economics.
Fencer Kim Treiber earned second-team All-District III honors. A senior from Morgantown, N.C., she carries a 3.81 GPA and is working toward a double major in biology and history.
